Terms and Conditions for PECSIG Membership

Introduction

Welcome to PECSIG (“we”, “our”, “us”). By joining PECSIG as a member, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions. These govern the use of our resources, services, and membership benefits.

Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to:

  • Medical professionals specializing in pediatric cardiology.
  • Trainees and students interested in pediatric cardiology
  • Healthcare professionals seeking resources to support the care of children with heart disease

By becoming a member, you affirm that all information provided during the registration process is accurate and up to date

Membership Fees
  • Membership fees are clearly outlined on the payment page.
  • Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration or renewal
  • All payments are non-refundable except in circumstances outlined under Section 8 (Refund Policy).
  • Non-payment of fees may result in suspension or termination of membership benefits.
Use of Resources
  • Members have access to exclusive resources, including educational materials, tutorials, and guidelines.
  • All materials provided by PECSIG are for educational purposes and are not a substitute for clinical judgment
  • Members may not reproduce, distribute, or share PECSIG’s materials without prior written consent.
Data Protection and Privacy

PECSIG is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our members and patients. We adhere to all applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Member Data:
  • Member information collected during registration is used solely for administrative purposes, resource access, and communication.
  • Your personal data will never be shared with third parties without explicit consent unless required by law.
Patient Data:
  • Any patient data used for case discussions or educational purposes must be anonymized to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Members must ensure compliance with their local data protection regulations when sharing or presenting clinical cases.
Patient Confidentiality
  • Members must respect and uphold patient confidentiality in all professional and educational activities.
  • Breach of patient confidentiality, intentional or otherwise, may result in membership termination and legal consequences.
Code of Conduct

Members are expected to maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions. This includes

  • Respecting fellow members, patients, and colleagues.
  • Avoiding any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Representing PECSIG positively in professional and public forums.
Refund Policy

Refunds for membership fees will only be provided under the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate payments made in error.
  • Membership applications rejected by PECSIG.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing to thepecisg.uk@gmail.com within 30 days of the payment date.

Termination of Membership

PECSIG reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership if:

  • A member violates these terms and conditions.
  • A member engages in activities that harm PECSIG’s reputation or mission
  • Membership fees are not paid within the specified time.

Members may voluntarily terminate their membership by providing written notice to thepecisg.uk@gmail.com.

Limitation of Liability
  • PECSIG’s resources and guidelines are for informational purposes only and do not replace professional medical judgment
  • PECSIG shall not be held liable for any clinical decisions made based on its resources.
Changes to Terms and Conditions

PECSIG reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via email or website announcements.
